LOCAL HIGHLIGHTS

Enjoy history, sports, shopping, and dining along with the 19th century charm of Chillicothe. Walk the paths of ancient people, hang out with a fun wood-bat college summer baseball league, shop for unique items, or dine at restaurants serving tasty food.  There’s something for everyone whether you want to lazily paddle your way down Paint Creek or engage in more vigorous hiking on the many trails in the area. Visit the museum in the railroad car in Yoctangee Park or The History Story with its historical miniatures.  The Potter’s House has hand-made pottery and Bernie and Max have stained glass.  The more you look, the more you’ll find wandering down the 19th Century atmosphere of Chillicothe.  And when you’ve had your fill of the city, visit Great Seal, Scioto Trail, Pike Lake or Tar Hollow State Parks or Buzzards Roost County Park.  All are great places to hike with scenic vistas and some allow mountain biking and horses.
